Our client is a leading Fintech company. They are looking for a candidate to fill the role of Head of Sanctions to oversee our client’s Sanctions Compliance Program in multinational jurisdictions where their businesses operate. The role entails being the key contact with The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and filing appropriate blocking reports; providing SME support and advice to the business lines; carrying out increased sanctions due diligence on higher risk clients; serving as the most senior escalation point with respect to resolving sanctions alerts and investigations; updating Sanctions policies and procedures; liaising with local Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLROs); and training personnel on sanctions risks and controls.
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 10 years of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Sanctions experience. He/She should be comfortable with interpreting OFAC regulations, possess strong knowledge of relevant business lines, including in-depth understanding of financial products and services. He/She must be able to think strategically along with the business and compliance functions. The ability to maintain composure and drive the correct outcomes under high risk scenarios is crucial. The successful candidate may be based in Hong Kong or Singapore.
